2005 Belles so close to London Marathon medals

April 17th. On the Embankment with less than 2 miles to go. Vicky Clarke (left) had gone through the 'half' in 84 minutes and was now hanging on to close in the team with 3:01.29. A steadier but still aggressive start came from Louise Cooper (centre) who led the team home in 2:56:30, although having her work cut out to stay ahead of Tilly Heaton (right), going like a train at the end to run 2:56:46. Silver medals were hoped for ... but it was to be that worst team place of all ... 4th.
