The final of the 100 yards at the South London Harriers Meeting at The Oval, Kennington, on 14 September 1912. Charlie Cook is second from the left, running off 16½ yards. The winner was Olympian Willie Applegarth (Polytechnic Harriers), on the far right. He ran from scratch to get up in the last few yards for victory in 10 seconds; one foot covered the first three. Later in the afternoon Applegarth set a British Record for 200 yards, run diagonally across the ground - 19 2/5 seconds.
